Lotus Heart Outreach
Realization can happen for anyone at any time. External circumstances come and go, but truth is deeper than change. In merging with the heart, we rediscover our natural state of peace, joy, and freedom–a realization that we are now and have always been fulfilled. Outreach programs support people who are awakening through all walks of life.

Mind-Healing
Workshops introduce holistic modalities, such as yoga, meditation, and sound healing, that open patients to understand the workings of the mind and what is deeper than mind. Practical teachings support inquiry into disturbing thinking patterns and destructive behavior, as well as into the fundamental question, “Who am I?” Through compassionate awareness, participants may be empowered to make positive and lasting change.
Silent retreats have been particularly popular as well.
Addiction and Recovery
Recovery workshops look into the nature of desire as the cause of our suffering, and examine the ways that we try to fulfill our basic longing for peace, debunking substance abuse as an ineffective coping method. Teachings offer supportive guidance in distress tolerance and rebuilding relationship. Grounded in Eastern philosophy and psychology, the groups are highly compatible with 12 Step Programs.
Homelessness
A basic meditation workshop serves people who are being integrated into the work force, perhaps for the first time. Discussion is targeted to reduce anxiety and build self-esteem. Workshops offer practical skills for long-term stress management and introduce participants to the joys of mindfulness on the job.
Founding and guiding teacher, Swamini Sri Lalitambika Devi, serves as a consultant to Mount Sinai Hospital’s Psychiatry Department and wrote the protocol for the Meditation Program at the Addiction Institute of New York. We also serve through Coalition for the Homeless, Westside Campaign Against Hunger, and the Prison Dharma Project.
